Sedimentary Rocks

Sedimentry rocks are normally stratified or bedded. They usually occur as layers parallel to the surface of which they were deposited. Many sedimentry rocks are clastic and are made up of fragments of other rocks cemented together by a solution. Many sedimentry rocks contain fossils which give us clues to life in the past. These types of rocks are variable in that some are composed of organic material. e.g. coal, and others are chemical perciptates. e.g. salt. The rocks are trimmed down in to the sizes which you select.

Algae Stromatolite

An unusual rock for Cumbria. We have a small quantity of this material, which takes an excellent polish. All pieces supplied rough.

Conglomerate (Morocco)

This is a new Conglomerate studied with pebbles. A high quality teaching material. It comes from Jebilet Inlier, Marrakesh, Morocco and is of Lower Carboniferous age. Specimens consists of clear rounded pebbles in matrix. Available in 2x2", 3x2", 4x3" sizes and a kilo bag.
