Shark teeth are the only part of a shark which becomes fossilised. This is because the sharks body is composed entirely of cartiladge as opposed to bone, there for upon death the cartiladge also decays along with the flesh leaving the only hard parts, the jaws and teeth. The oldest fossil teeth date back to 450 million years ago, the most common however are from the Cenozoic era (65 million years ago) Teeth can vary in size from 5 inches, belonging to megaldon to around 1/2 an inch or smaller of the Otodus obliquus. We stock a range of high quality shark teeth in many sizes each provided in a small plastic box
