We have a very large number of Aragonite specimens from Oughoud . Morocco. They vary in form, from the branching stalactitic form called flos - ferri (flowers of iron) to the white needle shaped, delicate crystals. Some specimens even have a globular habit. Radiating aggregates of black Aegirine crystals set in a matrix of Plagioclase Feldspar. Aegirine is named after the Scandinavian god of the sea, Aegir, as the minerals was first described in Norway.
