Knightia

Geological Age: Eocene period, 55 million yeas.

Fossil Location: Green River Formation, Wyoming, USA.

The Knightia are a relative of the modern day herring. Specimens are on avaerage 3" long. These fish were probably on the lower level of the food chain and fed on algae and one celled animals.
