Belemnites were common during the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, and their fossils are abundant in Mesozoic marine rocks, often associated with ammonites. Belemnites became extinct at the end of the Cretaceous period along with the ammonites.

Polished Belemnites

The polished shell of a Belemnite, squid like carnivours with a soft body within a outter shell. Belemnites evolved during the carboniferous and are thought to have evolved from ammonites. Specimens are supplies in a 3" x 2" white card tray with a small information sticker.
