1:50 000 Scale BGS Geological Maps

The 1:50 000 maps are generally considered to be the most useful of our geological maps and are widely used accross the country, providing comprehensive geological information suitable for a wide range of purposes and at a popular scale: maps are available for most of the united kingdom. The maps are shown below, and are arranged alphabetically. All maps are availbale flat or folded. *Key:* B = Bed rock - formely 'Solid' Sup = superficial deposits - formely Drift

B&Sup = Bed rock and superficial deposits - formely 'Solid and Drfit' - Shows the bedrock and superficial deposits with equal emphasis.
